Divorce Applications: These are usually straight forward Applications made to the Federal Magistrates Court but may have complexities when children are involved or when the non-applying party cannot be located.

Property Settlements for De Facto and Married Couples: Ensuring that the division of property upon the breakdown of your marriage or relationship is fair and equitable.

Arrangements for Children on break up of marriage or relationship:
Ensuring that residence and contact and special welfare issues of the child/children are dealt with adequately, seeking the best outcome for you and your child/children

Arbitration and Mediation: We can facilitate and encourage the mediation between parties where circumstances are appropriate, with the aim of resolving issues without the intervention of the Courts.

Child Support: Ensuring that Child Support being collected by the Child Support Agency (CSA) is fair and reasonable in accordance with the relevant formula, and preparing and registering Child Support Agreements with the CSA when required.

De Facto Law: All children issues to be resolved under the Family Law Act and Property issues under the Property Law Act.

Spousal Maintenance: Advising on whether a Spouse meets the criteria for a Spousal Maintenance Order.

Domestic Violence: Making or Defending Applications made under the Queensland Domestic Violence (Family Protection) Act for:

  • Actual physical violence;
  • Damage to property;
  • Intimidation;
  • Harassment; or
  • A threat to do any of the above


Pre-nuptial, Co-habitation, and Binding Financial Agreements recognised under the Family Law Act and Property Law Act:
These documents are useful in ensuring that individuals create as much certainty as possible in regards to their financial matters in the event of separation or divorce.
